On January 15, 2018, the RABC General Manager informed the Department that RABC members did not raise any concerns with the Department’s proposed changes.
The Department is seeking feedback from RABC members whether there are any concerns related to the amendment of Section 6.4 of RSS-133 – 2 GHz Personal Communications Services (Issue 6). The department is proposing to delete the following phrase related to the output power of base stations operating in the band 1930-1995 MHz:
6.4 Transmitter Output Power and Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power |

The equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) for transmitters shall not exceed the limits given in SRSP-510. In addition, the transmitter’s peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) shall not exceed 13 dB for more than 0.1% of the time using a signal corresponding to the highest PAPR during periods of continuous transmission. |
With this amendment, RSS-133 would now be in line with other, more recent RSSs where no conducted power requirement for base stations is provided as the maximum e.i.r.p is defined within the applicable SRSP.
