ISED Supplementary Procedure to Radio Standards Specification, RSS-102, SPR-004, Issue 1, December 15, 2020 – Time-Averaged Specific Absorption Rate (TAS) Assessment Procedures for Wireless Devices Operating in the 4 MHz – 6 GHz Frequency Band

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is seeking comments on the following CONSULTATION: RSS-102 SPR-004, issue 1, “Time-Averaged Specific Absorption Rate (TAS) Assessment Procedures for Wireless Devices Operating in the 4 MHz – 6 GHz Frequency Band”. This Supplementary Procedure to Radio Standards Specification (SPR) sets out the general test methods to be followed when carrying out an RF exposure compliance assessment of wireless devices implementing device-based time averaging methods for the management and/or mitigation of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) in the 4 MHz – 6 GHz frequency band.

Comments are due no later than February 23rd, 2021.
