SRSP-511 issue 3 (draft) – Technical Requirements for Land Mobile Radio Services Operating in the Bands 768-776 MHz and 798-806 MHz

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is seeking comments on the following technical standard: SRSP-511 issue 3 (draft) – Technical Requirements for Land Mobile Radio Services Operating in the Bands 768-776 MHz and 798-806 MHz.

SRSP-511, issue 3, states the minimum technical requirements for the purpose of efficient spectrum utilization for land mobile, aeronautical mobile, and fixed point-to-point systems operating in the public safety bands 768-776 MHz and 798-806 MHz.

The following are the main changes:

  • The addition of section 5.5 specifying conditions for aeronautical use of select frequencies within the band;
  • The replacement of details concerning cross-border coordination requirements with references to the applicable Arrangement.
  • The designation of four trunking groups from the pool of channels identified as national system channels to be available for air-to-ground applications; and
  • Other editorial updates and improvements have been made throughout the document.

 Comments are due no later than Friday, February 14th, 2025.
